Students of today will become citizens of tomorrow. It is, therefore, an important task of the nation to look after them and help them grow free from stress and strain. Students come from families belonging with several economic levels. Increase in the number of dropout students reflects that many students fail to fulfill their educational dreams mainly for scarcity of finance. On the other hand, there has been a sharp hike in educational expenditure recently in United Kingdom. Loans for students are sure to benefit the students against this socio-economic context.

Existing norms of the financial market regarding advancement of loans are followed for loans for students. Students can obtain loans for students either in secured form or in unsecured form.

Some students may have valuable assets like a vehicle or a piece of land or a home in their own name. They can get secured loans for students offering the same asset to be used as collateral. The lenders will happily advance them an amount between $5,000 and $75,000 as loans for students. The students will be asked to repay the loan amount by 5 to 25 years. The rate of interest for such loans is usually low.

Unsecured loans for students are also available. Students will obtain an amount of loan between $1,000 and $25,000. The students will have to pay back the loan within 1 to 5 years. Interest rate for unsecured loans is generally higher. Collateral property is not required for unsecured loans for students.

Students take loans for education. Sometimes they default and even stop payment. They fail to clear the loan amount and fail to honor their agreement with the lending agencies. In this way, they create a record of bad credit. The lenders do not want to provide loans to persons who have history of bad credit. However, credit history of the students is not checked for granting loans for students.

Students can get fair amount of loans from the directorate of education. They should apply for loans in the prescribed forms. The institutes or educational centers where they have enrolled their names as students must forward the forms.

There is, of course, better provision of loans for the post-graduate students.
